Since 1946, the Gonzales family has grown the rare and fabulous California Blenheim apricots. Grown on our Hollister ranch, we continue to be the farmer, pruner, dryer, packer, and seller of the vanishing Blenheim apricot. We produce the best tasting apricots in the world all "Home Grown in the Flavor Zone"!
In addition to our incredible dried apricots, be sure to discover our variety of nuts (walnuts, pistachios, almonds) and other dried fruits (peaches, pears, prunes, and more). For those who believe less is more, we have dark and delicious unsulfured dried apricots. And don't forget our sweet and tart selection of apricot jams and syrups as well as our decadent chocolate covered fruits and nuts. Simply delicious! Big Sale on Bulk
We're running a quick summer sale on the first of the 2022 crop.Bulk items are discounted 10% until 08-22-22.They're the newest, softest, tenderest cots fresh off the trays.Apricots can be refrigerated and last at least a year.....orfrozen and last an eternity.
Still sorting. washing, and scraping cots!
We have about 10,000 trays to go filled with our fabulous apricots.The slabs will be the last ones we attack.So far, we're offering in bulk the Standards, Orchard Blend, Slippits, and Leathersin bulk sizes. Check out our website.
And now on to the scraping:
Our new crop is drying quickly in this heat.We're beginning our scraping phase of the operation.We take 14 strong guys, run the fruit down a moving line...they scrape with special paddles allllll that fruit off the trays.That's 10,000 trays of fruit folks.
And just like that .....
And Just Like That.....it's over.The fresh season will end on Monday.We will cut every single fresh apricot.And that will be the end of the 2022 season.It's been spectacular, not easy, but 200 tons of fresh fruit is never easy.
Nothing like the Harvest
It's all hands on deck here at ApricotKingThe pickers are picking 50 bins a day.Our machine is cranking out 20 bins an hour.There's no stopping us now. One the road to harvesting 250 tons of fresh Blenheims in the next two weeks.
We're in Full harvest now.
Our first day of cutting went flawlessly.We picked and cut a total of 48 tons.Tuesday will be our next big pick.Hoping to reach 250 tons by July 15.That will be the end of the fresh.

Fresh Blenheims are here.First pick happens today.Last pick will be around July 11Expecting 250 tons.Needing pickers to pick. Workers to work.And praying for cooler weather.That last spurt of triple digits left a tremendous amount of sunburn.
